Time to Go

An elderly woman with a Stage IIIA (T3N2M0, 4.5cm, squamous cell) non-small cell lung carcinoma has refused any treatment for her lung cancer when she presented 9 months ago, and has been managed by Palliative. She has presented to your hospital ED with 3 days of feeling unwell , mild nausea and PR bleeding.

  1. Provide a concise algorithm for the routine treatment of Stage IIIA NSCLC.
  2. Identify the clinical connection between the PR bleeding and lung cancer in this patient.
  3. Write a short summary as would appear at the end of her admission describing the scenario, problem and remedies.
