Oncology Informatics
Oncology Informatics is a field of endeavour that looks to apply the discipline of Informatics to the betterment of Oncology practice.
Many of these areas are immature and include Specialist Medical Vocabulary, Controlled Terminology, Ontology, User Interface design & development, and Real world implementation. All are legitimate areas of study and need to be approached from the academic aspects of Informatics and the practical aspects of use.
I am involved with an academic centre pursuing this line of thought at University of Wollongong.
There are many areas of fruitful research available as this field is largely unmined, so if you are interested in this area please contact me.
